Jacky won a scholarship to Bournemouth College of Art studying Sculpture and Lithography, followed by a rare and valuable Gulbenkian Scholarship to further her artistic career at the British School in Rome, studying Sculpture.
 
She taught at Plymouth Art School for 14 years, and Chesterfield Art College for 18 years.
